Clothing to cater for the fuller filly
There is now one sport where the issue of size has been confronted head-on.
Yorkshire rider Suzanne Wild was so frustrated with the lack of clothing available in her size (a curvy 18/20) that she decided to design and manufacture a range of her own; and in February, the Fuller Fillies Collection hit the shops.
In six months the collection became available throughout the UK as well as Australia, New Zealand, Finland, Sweden and America.
Most importantly, the entire Fuller Fillies Collection is on sale now at Sutherland Saddlery, Pembroke Dock.
Julie Sutherland, of Sutherland Saddlery, said: "I saw an advert for Fuller Fillies in one of the trade magazines before BETA and thought it looked like a great range.
"The garments were good quality and I liked the designs so I decided to take the collection on and I'm pleased I did. The Fuller Fillies range has sold really well both in my shop and online store."
Julie has personal experience of how good the clothing range is.
She added: "I am a larger lady rider myself and I was genuinely delighted when I got to know the range.
"I'm moving to bigger premises soon and hope to take on more of the collection including the showing range. When I saw that, I thought that I could actually go to a show now without having to wear a shapeless male show jacket."
To contact Sutherland Saddlery, call 01646 689988 or go and see the range at Pembroke Garden Village, Cosheston, Pembroke Dock.
