Members love being really dull!
 |
| We're loving it: Pembrokeshire YFC county organiser Dill Williams with Ruth Morgan, of winning club Fishguard YFC and Geraint Jones, who acted as the judge for the evening. |
Members of Pembrokeshire YFC proved they are anything but dull at a fun evening of song, performance and lots of laughter.
A love-themed eisteddfod ddwl (fun eisteddfod), organised by Menter Iaith Sir Benfro, was held at the Royal Oak in Fishguard on St Dwynwen's Day, the Welsh equivalent of St Valentine's Day.
Members fell in love with the crazy competitions which ranged from acting out a recitation as a child under four years old, to hymn singing over 100 years old, a cats' choir and humorous dialogue on the spot.
There were also homework' competitions to be completed during the evening including writing a limerick and creating a romantic card for St Dwynwen's Day.
Dill Williams, county organiser said: "There is a strong competitive element in YFC, so the eisteddfod ddwl was a great opportunity for our Welsh-speaking members to let their hair down.
"Nia George and everyone at Menter Iaith thought up some highly enjoyable competitions and everyone spent the whole night laughing and having fun."
Although the emphasis of the evening was firmly on fun, the highest placed club in all competitions was awarded a shield, and this year was the turn of Fishguard YFC to take the honours. Other clubs competing included Eglwyswrw, Hermon and Llysyfran.
