Pair were on trec to take title

A new Pembrokeshire pairing has proved to be successful for two Narberth riders.

Lynn Davies and Chris Paine took the level three and four pairs title at the BHS Trec league awards dinner in Coventry.

Consistency paid off for the pair, who were competing together for the first time in 2007, with two wins and two second places from just four outings.

The BHS Trec league, sponsored by South Essex Insurance Brokers, runs throughout the year and is decided by the four best placings achieved by an individual or pair.

BHS senior executive, competitions, Helen Owens said: "It was a super evening, with people travelling from all over the UK to attend, and we are very grateful to South Essex Insurance Brokers for their continued support of the league."

The prizes were presented by BHS chief executive Graham Cory to the riders who collected the most points throughout the 2007 season.

The sport of BHS Trec was brought to the UK by the BHS in 1998. The discipline developed from the skills needed for trail riding and is designed to test riders' navigation skills, control of their horse's paces and the ability to tackle a variety of obstacles.
