AN Eglwyswrw young farmer
received a special gift at the
Pembrokeshire YFC
eisteddfod when she was
awarded the prestigious chair.
Nia George was chaired for her
short story on the theme a gift'.
Carys Williams, of Fishguard
YFC was placed second for her
poem and Nia's talent for writing
saw her take first, second and
third places in the limerick competition
and help Eglwyswrw to
the cup for highest placed club in
the homework section.
After a day of
fierce competition
on stage in
singing, recitation,
drama, comedy
sketches and
the popular mime
to music,
Fishguard YFC
emerged as the
winners for the
second year in a row.
Snapping at their heels, only
two marks adrift were
Eglwyswrw YFC, with Llysyfran
just one point behind them in
third.
Members then went on to the
Wales YFC eisteddfod, with
Catrin Raymond, Fishguard,
third in the under-16 solo and
recitation; Pippa Williams,
Llysyfran, third in the folk song;
Rhian Thomas, Llysyfran, third
in the under-26 recitation; Nia
George, Eglwyswrw, third in the
humorous recitation and Carys
Williams and Ruth Morgan,
Fishguard, second in the humorous
dialogue and Fishguard YFC
third in the recitation party
