SOUTH Pembs YFC celebrated
a double victory in the
intermediate public speaking
competition, claiming the
title for the second year running.
The team of Fay Brickell, Rachael
Hughes, Matthew Palmer and
Wayne Shanklin stormed to victory
in the brainstrust competition
where a panel of three members has
to discuss three unseen topics chosen
by the chairman only 20 minutes
beforehand.
South Pembs also claimed the
best panel cup, with Katie Davies, of
Llysyfran YFC, winning the best
chairman trophy.
There was also triumph for young
James John, of Templeton YFC, in
his first intermediate competition.
James, aged just 13, competed
against members up to 21 years old
and was named most promising
speaker.
